5 What do you know about boy bands?
Boy bands are a type of manufactured pop or hip-hop group with three or more male singers. The members are generally expected to perform as dancers as well as singers and their dance sequences are normally highly choreographed. Most boy bands tend to follow mainstream music and fashion trends. The bands could evolve naturally, but they are often put together by managers and producers who audition the groups for their appearance, dancing and singing abilities. They tend to appeal to pre-teen girls and the emphasis seems to be on the marketing rather than the quality of the music. Some famous boy bands are Westlife and Backstreet Boys.
